How long will it take to deliver once the order is placed?
Typically, Amber’s medical imaging equipment is ready for shipping within 90 days of placing an order. For smaller modalities, delivery can be completed within 4 weeks. However, for larger equipment such as CT, MRI, and PET/CT scanners, once the order is placed, the subsequent steps involve your Architect sending us the building layout and specifying the space for the unit. Following this, Amber will create site-specific installation drawings that are necessary for obtaining building permits. Upon completion of the construction phase, an Amber Field Engineer will perform a site readiness assessment and coordinate the delivery of your new equipment. For more information or if you have specific questions about the delivery process, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Do you provide Applications Training, and is it mandatory?
Yes, we do offer application training, and it is not mandatory. However, the necessity of training depends on your staff’s familiarity with the new equipment. While it’s not required, we always recommend some level of training to ensure the proper use and maintenance of the machine. When purchasing refurbished equipment, extensive training is usually not needed. On the other hand, state-of-the-art equipment may require a lot of training, even for experienced technologists. Please reach out to Amber to inquire about the various application training options available.
What does refurbishment consist of?
Typically, there are two types of refurbishing: Cosmetic and full service.
Cosmetic refurbishment includes the following:
- Thorough cleaning to remove dirt and grime
- Decontamination to ensure safety and hygiene
- Painting and sanding to restore the external appearance
- Adjustment of brakes and locks for smooth operation
- Replacement of decals for clear labeling and safety information.
A full refurbishment includes all the aspects of cosmetic refurbishment, and it also involves:
- A comprehensive inspection of the entire unit to identify any underlying issues
- Replacement of the tube, a critical component in many imaging systems
- Updating or replacement of software, wiring, cables, circuit boards, and other components as needed to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
