A picture really is worth a thousand words, so what better way to show the difference
If you are on the fence about whether or not to choose a 3.0T MRI or a 1.5T, today’s blog post is for you.
A picture really is worth a thousand words, so what better way to show the difference between 3.0T and 1.5T than visually?
For the photo above the 3.0T MRI scan image is on the left, and the 1.5T MRI scan image is on the right.
For the knee scan above, the 3.0T image on the right is much more detailed, which is incredibly helpful for the radiologist to be able to make an accurate diagnosis.

Here are a few more examples of the clarity and precision that a 3.0T MRI scanner provides.
As you can see, a visual representation mostly works in favor of a 3.0T scanner because of the exceptionally clear images. However, keep in mind that just because a 3.0T scanner produces clearer images, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s a better scanner.
To help you get better acquainted with both scanners, here’s a blog post we wrote about the differences between 1.5T and 3.0T: Differences Between 1.5T and 3T MRI.
